Reaching Vulnerable Children Through Effective Community  Outreaches.

What we have done

Over the years, SAFTI has been instrumental in positively impacting the lives of community members, particularly widows, orphans, and other vulnerable individuals across Kaduna State and 23 other states in Nigeria. Through our extensive community mobilization efforts, outreach programs, capacity-building initiatives, and health promotion activities, we have achieved significant milestones. Some of our key accomplishments include:

- Empowerment Training: SAFTI has provided skills training to 576 widows in various vocational fields such as fashion design, knitting, bead making, shoe making, catering services, soap making, and poultry farming. These initiatives aim to equip widows with sustainable income-generating skills, fostering economic independence and self-sufficiency.
- Maternal and Child Health: Our organization has facilitated the referral of over 6,000 pregnant women for antenatal care (ANC) services. By promoting access to essential maternal healthcare services, we contribute to reducing maternal and infant mortality rates and ensuring safer pregnancies and childbirth experiences for women in underserved communities.

- Community Outreach: SAFTI has conducted extensive outreach activities, reaching over 2,000 community members through one-on-one and group engagements. These outreach efforts serve as platforms for disseminating vital health information, raising awareness about key issues affecting the community, and promoting behavior change towards adopting healthier lifestyles and practices.

- Skill Acquisition for Older Women: Recognizing the influence of older women as key influencers in the community, SAFTI has organized specialized skill acquisition sessions targeting this demographic. Through three dedicated sessions conducted across 25 groups, we empower older women with practical skills and knowledge, enabling them to serve as mentors and role models for younger generations.

- Support for IDP Camps: In response to the humanitarian crisis affecting internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kaduna State, SAFTI has provided vital support to IDP camps, delivering palliative assistance to improve the social well-being and resilience of displaced individuals and families.

Through these initiatives, SAFTI remains committed to its mission of fostering positive social change, promoting community resilience, and empowering marginalized populations to lead healthier, more prosperous lives.
